Not only are marketing professionals not investing in marketing automation technology, nearly half of them don’t even know what it is, according to a recent survey.

Yes, I’m on a marketing automation kick today. I take for granted, I guess, that everyone is as nerdy as I am. I love technology. I love to learn what it can do to make life easier and business better. I was surprised that adoption of marketing automation was reported to be as low as 16%, but I find this stat from a recent survey a little disheartening:  44% percent of respondents who aren’t using marketing automation don’t even know what it is.

I’ll tell you what it is: awesome. At first it can seem overwhelming if you are anxious about technology. If you aren’t working on content marketing or driving traffic to your site, then don’t even bother. But, if measuring your online marketing efforts, nurturing leads, and staying in closer content with your customers is important, you have got to at least investigate the options available to you.
