Expertise Shouldn’t Sound Boring

Do you ever wonder if subject matter expertise or skill mastery squashes creativity? Think again.

I recently attended a 2Cellos concert with my sister, Kim. (Thanks for the ticket!)

I wasn’t a fan . . . until I saw them live. Depending on your level of musical snobbery, you may think, “Big whoop, just a couple of guys doing covers of rock songs on their cellos.” 🙄

Yes, big whoop! These musicians have taken their mastery of the cello and love of rock and brought them together for a unique experience to capture a specific niche audience.

As content marketers, we find ourselves in the same scenario sometimes. Maybe our industry is “boring” or everyone is talking about the same thing (because it’s the most important thing going on).

Think like a rockin’ cellist and deliver your message with the style and energy that will rock your prospects’ faces off (in a good way).
